#4.  Please go over the Speed Limit, because Gov really Needs the Money

By Scott Wise-

RALEIGH, North Carolina — If you set your cruise control to five miles above the posted speed limit, you might consider lowering it a bit when crossing over the North Carolina state line.

Highway officials and North Carolina State Highway Patrol told WTVD that troopers would begin cracking down on speeders — anyone who traveled above the posted speed limit. That crackdown was set to begin (last) Thursday, ahead of Spring Break in Central Virginia.

“Many Americans believe they won’t be ticketed if they drive within a ‘buffer zone’ above the posted speed limit. But now, law enforcement will be targeting and ticketing speeding drivers,” the N.C. Department of Transportation posted online. “Studies continue to show that speed is a major cause of injury and fatality on North Carolina roadways. In 2015 alone, there were 322 speed-related fatalities and 10,658 speed-related injuries. Speeding was a contributing factor in 23 percent of all fatal crashes in North Carolina.”

#3  We’re from the Government and We’re Here to Watch Over Your Kid, 24/7

From The Telegraph UK

By Auslan Cramb

The Scottish Government is under intense pressure to revisit its controversial plan to appoint a “state guardian” for every child after teachers, parents and politicians attacked the policy.

Teaching unions have expressed a range of concerns about the draft guidance on the legislation, while the minister responsible found herself under attack from parents on a radio phone-in programme.

Parents described the policy as “interfering madness”, a “big brother” approach and a “sinister” attempt to meddle in the lives of ordinary people.

The legislation, part of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act, is due to come into force in August 2016 and will see a named person, usually a health visitor or head teacher, nominated for one million children under 18.

They will be expected to assess a child’s “wellbeing” against eight key indicators, including factors such as whether they are safe, healthy, included and respected….

Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister, insists the scheme will help vulnerable children, while critics say it breaches the human rights of parents and are pursuing a legal challenge against the plan.

Ken McIntosh, the Labour MSP and a candidate for the leadership of the party in Scotland, said the move would not make children safer and called on the Scottish Parliament to “revisit the legislation and to fully scrutinise the SNP’s plans to interfere in family life”.

#2  Muh Votes, Muh Freedumbs, Muh GOP Convention!

From Superstation95

According to various members of the National Republican Committee, “Rule 40(b) no longer exists.”

Back in 2012, as Ron Paul gained serious momentum going into the convention, the GOP had to act fast to ensure their darling Mitt Romney was the eventual nominee, so they changed Rule 40(b) to require that candidate get a majority of delegates in eight states to be able to get on the ballot.

That was then. This is now, and now they aren’t going to play by their own rules, it’s been confirmed.

The Washington Examiner has more on this enraging move by party elites:

Party officials and knowledgeable sources have confirmed over the past few days that Rule 40(b) doesn’t exist for the purposes of the upcoming convention. That means at this point, the three candidates left in the race, front-runner Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, are all eligible for the nomination, as, possibly, are the Republican contenders who have since suspended their campaigns.

#1  America’s Ultimate Proxy War

Syrian militias armed by different parts of the U.S. war machine have begun to fight each other on the plains between the besieged city of Aleppo and the Turkish border, highlighting how little control U.S. intelligence officers and military planners have over the groups they have financed and trained in the bitter 5-year-old civil war.

The fighting has intensified over the past two months, as CIA-armed units and Pentagon-armed ones have repeatedly shot at each other as they have maneuvered through contested territory on the northern outskirts of Aleppo, U.S. officials and rebel leaders have confirmed.

In mid-February, a CIA-armed militia called Fursan al Haq, or Knights of Righteousness, was run out of the town of Marea, about 20 miles north of Aleppo, by Pentagon-backed Syrian Democratic Forces moving in from Kurdish-controlled areas to the east.

“Any faction that attacks us, regardless from where it gets its support, we will fight it,” said Maj. Fares Bayoush, a leader of Fursan al Haq.
