Quaker Oats logoThe Quaker Oats Company, which is a PepsiCo, Inc. subsidiary, has recalled some of its Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars. An ingredient supplier distributed sunflower kernels that could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (L.mono). L. mono can cause serious infections in children, the elderly, and frail people. These infections can sometimes be fatal. There haven’t been any illnesses reported as of Monday, May 16th. The following products were distributed nationwide: 6.1 ounce boxes of Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars Chocolate Nut Medley and 6.1 ounce boxes of Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars Yogurt, Fruit & Nut.
