The Verizon strike which began on April 13th has not ended yet as almost 40,000 workers continue to voice their concerns.
Though Verizon made an offer to the workers last week, they rejected it. Verizon claimed that it was their “last” offer. Verizon workers have been striking for 23 days now. Verizon workers have even been striking locally. Workers were standing outside of the Verizon building as they were striking in Elmira, NY, WETM 18 reported.
At the Verizon annual shareholder’s meeting which was held in Albuquerque, NM, about 250 workers showed up to strike outside of the meeting. Fifteen of those striking were arrested. Verizon’s first quarter profits in 2016 exceeded $4.4 billion.
