According to the Redding CA Police, the misadventure began when police attempted to conduct a routine traffic stop of Turman, who happened to be driving the famed Scooby Doo van (well, maybe not THE van, but a pretty close facsimile).Police say Turman drove off, setting off a high-speed chase that reached speeds as high as 100 mph. Someone, Turman managed to evade the police. The helicopters witnessed Turman abandoning the Scooby Doo van and escaping on foot. She is still at large, wanted by both the Redding Police, as well as Shasta County Probation.
The high speed chase resulted in four vehicles being damaged by the Scooby Doo van. And, fortunately a dash through a red light did not lead to any crashes.
The traffic stop was the result of a warrant that had been put out on Turman in connection to a parole violation. Maybe next time they should find a group of meddling kids to catch her.
If by some crazy set of circumstances, one of our readers thinks they might be able to help find Turman, please call Redding Police at 530-225-4200 or the Secret Witness of Shasta County at 530-243-2319.
